Elite Running Team

The last several weeks have been exciting for team members of the Inside-Out Sports RunningB.com running team. We had two team members make the trip to the Boston Marathon, and several local performances have rounded out the team.
Last month, several InsideOut Sports RunningB.com Running Team members toed the line to compete in either the 5k or the 10k on a clear and sunny April 4th morning at Regency Park in Cary for the Cary Road Race. The 10k was the first race of the morning and with that Tim Meigs was quickly on his way to another victory. Running a steady race as part of his preparation for the Boston Marathon in a couple of weeks, Meigs worked his way through a small pack of leaders to take the lead by mile three and continue to open a gap. From that point, Meigs continued to open his lead to an impressive 40 second win, finishing in a time of 35:50. Also in the 10k were fellow InsideOut Sports RunningB.com team members Douglas Liming and Dulce Altabella. Douglas Liming finished 7th overall in a time of 38:13. Dulce Altabella, coming back from a recent injury, finished in fine form with an impressive 3rd overall Female finish and a time of 42:46. Next up was the 5K. Rob Stanfield continued to represent the team well with a second overall finish in a time of 17:17. Also coming off the injured list was Rob Wilson,
finishing first in his age group with a time of 18:56. Brennan Liming, after
finishing 4th overall Female at the Raleigh Rocks Half Marathon just a week
prior, completed the 5K as the first overall female finisher, BREAKING the
course record with a time of 18:13.
On Monday, April 20th, Tim Meigs and Wayne Crews made the trip to the 113th Boston Marathon. Tim Meigs maintained a steady race pace of 6:28 to finish in a personal record (PR) of 2:49:24, placing an impressive 38th in his age group. Wayne Crews, still recovering from an injury, completed the course with a time of 3:20:00.
Just this past weekend, three team members, Brennan Liming, Dulce Altabella, and Rob Stanfield, competed in the Capitol City Classic held May 9, 2009 in downtown Raleigh. The race featured a large prize purse and was this year's North Carolina 10K Road Championships. Rob Stanfield raced to a personal record of 35:51, placing him 8th overall in a talented field. For the
women, Brennan Liming took the lead early in the race, and held it to place
first female overall with a time of 38:25.00. Dulce Altabella took 1st in
her age group finishing with a time of 43:53.04.
