Years Running 15
If you could run with anyone(past/present) who would it be?Why? Joan Nesbit-Mabe - I had the chance to overlap briefly with Joan when I began doing some speed workouts with a group at the UNC track many years ago, and I found her to be very skilled at helping and motivating others. My brief encounter with her definitely inspired and improved my running experience. I would enjoy the chance to cross paths with her again.
Do you have any pre-run/pre-race rituals? I eat a Power Bar, jog two miles easy, look for a restroom, and then do a few strides.
Favorite running memory My favorite running memory would be the last mile of the 2003 Old Reliable 10K. After setting a good pace and working with another runner for the first 5 miles, I followed some pre-race advice and took off after running around the NCSU bell tower. I passed over a dozen runners, including a couple of my training buddies who still talk about how I just flew by them that day. I cranked out a 5:33 for the last mile, set a PR, won my age group, and got a nifty duffel bag that I still use today. It would have been hard to have written a better script that day.
Favorite pre-race meal I like to eat a spaghetti dinner the night before a race.
What is your favorite movie? Star Wars - This is also the first movie I remember attending with my Dad
If you had to choose one kind of food that you had to eat the rest of your life what would it be? Ice Cream
